Gallagher joins the Blue and Gold fold

Oct 11, 2016

We are very pleased to announce that former Adelaide Crow & Norwood player James Gallagher has accepted a Senior Assistant coaching position for 2017.

President Brian Waldron said that this was a major coup for the club and James brings a wealth of experience.

“James met with the coach last week and they clicked immediately, they were both well aligned in their philosophy and how footy should be played.”

James played 38 AFL games for the Crows between 2000-2004. He then went on to play 228 games for Norwood in the SANFL and was club captain from 2007 to 2011 and won back to back Best & Fairest awards in 2007 and 2008.

In 2012, he came out of retirement to win a premiership with Norwood. Upon completion of his playing career, James then took on the Midfield Coaching role and again saluted with another premiership in 2014.

Fortunately for our club, James has been transferred to Melbourne with his young family in his role with Macquarie Bank.
Senior Coach Paul Satterley was delighted with the appointment.

“James understands what it takes to be successful and he will be terrific for me personally as well as the playing group. This is great news for the club.”

The club welcomes James and his family to the fold.
