VALE: FRANK DUNN
The club would like to announce the sad passing of Frank Dunn, father of Bernard Dunn, a past player and coach of the club. Frank was 94, and is survived by his wife Phyllis, also 94, and their seven children. All of the Dunn boys in Phillip, Chris, Bernard & Frank grew up in Malvern were De La Salle boys.
Bernard was a highly talented midfielder, and an All-Australian amateur who not only played in three A Grade Premierships but coached the senior team to two premierships and two runners’ up results. He continues to make a huge contribution to the club and we are all feeling his and his family’s loss deeply.
Frank was a Motor Mechanic in the Malvern area for over 50 years and was a great friend of Club stalwart and panel beater Kevin Horrigan. Between them, they kept some low level machines owned by footy club members on the road well past their use by date!
The deepest sympathies of all within the Blue & Gold Army are extended to the Dunn family. Frank’s funeral will be held at St Peters Church in East Bentleigh on Tuesday, 2nd July at 11am.
