What do you do when you’re just naturally gifted at several sports?
Just play both. At state level. And maybe even at national level!
Alex Keath – a boy from Shepparton has done just that.
He is one of the sporting stars who will join us at this year’s Season Launch.
From his days as a talented junior to the success of a professional AFL player, we can’t wait to hear from him as he joins us for our Season Launch.
The current Western Bulldogs AFL player is also a former Victorian Cricketer and represented Australia during his teens.
His footy career began at the Shepparton Bears and various clubs before being recruited into the Gold Coast Suns in 2009, just before they joined the AFL.
But he was also a very talented junior cricketer which saw him represent Australia in the 2010 Under – 19 Cricket World Cup. He also played for Victoria, had some big hits with the Melbourne Stars, and played a stint in the Birmingham Premier League.
It seems his two talents and passions have been intertwined for much of his sporting life.
Noticed by football recruiters when he was playing cricket, Alex was drafted as a rookie with the Adelaide Football Club in the SANFL, and finally made his AFL debut in 2017 with the Adelaide Crows and was traded to the Western Bulldogs in 2019.
