Match Report

We cross the bridge for a big game v Willy CY’s They are always hard to beat there. We need to play well to beat them. We welcome Sam Penell, Dean Kaminaris and Harry Mounas who are playing their first reserves game for the year .

We own most of the ball in the first quarter and go Into the first break leading 3.3.21 to CY’s 1.2.8 Our defenders have a good first quarter led by Nick Jarvis and Charlie Aitken.
We are a bit sloppy with our ball use early in the second quarter. Our last ten minutes of the second quarter was back to where we wanted to be . We cracked in and made it difficult for CY’s. Half time De La 6.4.40 CY’s 2.4.16. Four goals up and looking good

Our third quarter, we took our foot off the pedal and allowed Willy back into the game.They kick the first two goals and get to within 12 points. Three quarter time and the game has tightened up a little more . De La 8.6.54. CY’s 5.5.35

We regroup and understand we need to run out the game. To our boys credit, that’s what they did . We finish the day winning by 27 points De La 10.7.67. CY’s 5.10.40 We had more goal kickers today. Ed McMahon kicks two for the day to lead the way.

Some of our better players, Curtis, Aitken, McGraw, Martin. Pleased to have responded when we needed to. Looking fwd to playing at home again next week.
