De La Salle vs Old Haileybury

Another great day for footy. We welcome Old Haileybury to Waverley Rd . Certainly not taking them lightly . They have been competitive in all their games .
Great first quarter by our boys 6.3.39 to OH 0.1.0.1 0.1 Our runners recall took the game on , fwds provided plenty of options and our backs were on top At halftime we lead by 7 goals 8.8.56 to OH 2.2.14. There was a bit of a breeze going towards the playground end of the ground We kick to the scoring end in the third quarter. To OH’s credit they keep fighting the game out They certainly didn’t give up . Our boys probably relaxed after halftime. Our intensity was not as strong as it was earlier in the game. Always in control, although OH kicked the first three goals of the last quarter.

The older more experienced Hanley, Curtis, McGraw , Jarvis, Hill led the way but were ably assisted by younger players Wiseman , who kicked 4 goals, T .Martin in the ruck, JT down back and in for his first game Lucas Liakakos who also kicked two goals .

Big game next week against Old Ivanhoe . A real challenge to take it up to them . Hopefully we can cause them some worries with our style of play . A real 8 point game against the second placed side. We are 3rd . Looking fwd to a ripper of a contest
