De La Salle vs Old Geelong

Match Report

Last home and away game for season 2024. We’ve secured second spot on the ladder so we get the double chance . Well deserved by our group .  We welcome Old Geelong to Waverley Rd . Two v Three . We rest a few players and welcome some under19  blues players into the side .

We had some thirds players in the side as well. Windy conditions made it difficult at times OG kick with a strong breeze in the first quarter.

De La 2.9.12.     OG 4.1.25   Happy to have kicked two goals against the breeze. Second quarter we had plenty of the ball but couldn’t capitalise on our dominance.Half time De La 4.1.25 OG 5.6.36

Eleven points down and well in the game . Of course the ball spent most of the time down at the cricket net end as the wind was blowing hard that way . We go into the last break 18 points down and  putting up a good show with all the changes we have in the side . We lose Jake Miller to a bad shoulder injury . Hoping he has a speedy recovery. He was going well as a lead up forward .

Last break and we dominate the quarter but couldn’t convert our chances . In the end OG got the result. Disappointing but can’t complain as we fought it out to the end . Final Score De La 7.6.48. OG 8.10 .58
