In what was a surprisingly low scoring affair, it was goal kicking once again which cost the Colts side the victory when they faced off against Bulleen Templestowe on Saturday. In each of their three losses so far this season, the Colts have had equal or more scoring shots than their opposition.
The Colts first half was probably their poorest of the season to date, with lazy kicking and poor decision making masked by some good defensive efforts from a strong backline and a freakish goal from captain Jude Dannanaoui. A big wake up call from coach Declan McLaughlin at half time fired the boys up and they liftd for the second half.
Unfortunately, they were unable to capitalise from this extra effort and when they dominated the final quarter they kicked 0.5 and as it often happens Bulleen Templestowe’s one rebound resulted in a goal for them, allowing them to run out 7 point winners.
Although the Colts side now sits at 1-3 for the season so far, those three losses have all been by 7 points or less and these losses have been to the sides sitting currently in the top three positions. The side knows what they need to work on and are excited for the opportunity to step and get their season back on track this week against MHSOB.
Result: De La 1.11.17 vs Bulleen Templestowe 3.6.24
