We are delighted to announce the immediate appointment of Nick Walsh to a newly created role as Head of Future Football at De La Salle Football Club.
Nick’s major role will revolve around retention, development, and recruitment of our playing list, starting with our Under 19 Program through to the football connection and relationship with the College, as well as other feeder Clubs and Schools in our Community.
He will also provide his support and expertise to all matters related to our Coaching, and High-Performance Programs.
Nick joins us fresh from a role within the AFL in high performance. His footy started as a 17-year-old leaving his native Ireland to be a Rookie at the Melbourne Football Club. His resume since then is quite impressive with roles in:
Head of Performance & Conditioning – St Kilda Football Club
Director of Coaching – St Kevin’s College
Assistant/Line Coach – GWS Giants
Program Manager – Tackle Your Feelings
National Manager – Gaelic Athletic Association
Talent ID Manager – AFL & Gaelic National Academy
Vice Chair – National Festival & Youth for Gaelic Games in Ireland
Nick’s career has progressed through playing, coaching, development, education, performance science, talent pathways, mental health, and elite high performance.
