AFLW PLAYER JOINS DE LA STAFF

Oct 19, 2023

Even though her younger years were spent show jumping and competing with horses, Breann Moody’s passion for fitness and sport has led her to AFLW and a new role at De La.

“I always wanted to get as far as I could in any sport. AFL came along at the right time, and I love that it gives me a platform and a network to help others.”

De La is excited to announce the signing of Breann, AFLW All Australian Ruck, in the newly created role of Head of Football – Women, effective immediately.
Bre is one of the premier players in the AFL.

She has played 71 AFLW games for the Carlton Football Club and kicked 22 goals. Breann’s achievements include All Australian Honours (2021 & 2022) and the Carlton Best and Fairest (2018).

Bre will bring invaluable knowledge and expertise to our Women’s team, the Guns, and will immediately start the process of securing our coaching and playing list for the 2024 season.

“I’m really excited to take on such a diverse role. I learn best by doing and it’s another level again from my role as Assistant Team Manager, Football Operations Carlton, for the Men’s team. If I can help players get where they want to go and put them on the pathway to being an AFLW player, then that’s great.”

She is excited to meet the players, see what level they are at, and put tools in place to develop the team into a Premier B side and ultimately a Premier A side.
The role will see her focus on all aspects of the Gun’s, from training and game days, to recruiting coaches and players, and continuing to grow the Korowa Anglican Girls’ AFL program.

With only three Home and Away games to go herself, with AFLW Carlton, she is confident they have a good chance of being in the finals.

And when she’s not playing or working, you’ll find her still staying active, socialising with friends and listening to podcasts on everything from leadership to sports recovery.

Welcome to De La Breann, we look forward to working with you.
